Jason & Kristy Howell started building homes in 2013. Prior to this, we specialized in renovations. We are a small company that specializes in quality custom homes. We build around 6 homes a year to make the process a more personalized experience. Jason is the General Contractor and Co-Owner at Vintage Custom Homes. He is involved in every aspect of the build process. His fresh perspective and knowledge allow us to maximize the efficiency of your home and provide an end result that reflects your personality and lifestyle.
Kristy Howell, Co-Owner of Vintage Custom Homes is a licensed Real Estate with Better Homes and Garden Real Estate, The Good Life Group. She facilitates the design for our clients & model homes. Kristy organizes the selections for each project and assists with the design. She visits the site frequently and is very hands on to ensure the design is carried out as intended. We are 100% custom, as no two homes are alike. Ultimately, our goal is to provide you with a completely customized project that fits your lifestyle and brings years of enjoyment.
This is an exciting step! Building a home is a big decision. We want you to feel comfortable with the process and get to know each other. We will be a big part of your life for the next several months. This meeting is to brainstorm ideas, based on your specific needs, and to see if we are a good fit for each other. We will schedule to meet and discuss your project to understand your dream and how we can help make it work with your budget. It is a collaborative process to bring your vision to life. It's more than a piece of dirt. Whether you are dreaming of an acreage, lake living, or the perfect subdivision, location is everything. We will discuss options of building on your own land or lean on Kristy to find a lot for you.
We accompany you to our preferred draft design team. Together, we collaborate to help design your custom floor plan with all your wants & needs laid out on paper. The design team will draw preliminary plans based on your personal design and aesthetic preferences. From here, 3D rendering technology is available to help you envision your design in every way.
Once we have a complete set of plans, we can prepare a line-item budget with allowance packages which will allow us to finalize the proposed price. This process can take a few weeks but is important as we want to give you the budget customized to your specific wants and needs. We make sure you are happy with the allowances and adjust based on what is important to you.
After the bid process is complete and the budget is agreed upon, a new construction contract is signed. We can now pull permits and start digging to bring your dream home to life.
Design plays a large part of bringing your dream to reality. Kristy will help ensure your personal design is carried through the build. Additional design services available as well.
Your project is ready to be built! We work daily to ensure everything moves smoothly. You will not be handed off to a project manager, Jason is there every step of the build. The length of process depends on material availability and size of project. Throughout the construction phase, you will be kept involved with consistent communication, progress updates, and on-site milestone meetings.
